Aston Lark achieves competitive EAP programme to support a client’s business during Covid-19

One of our clients wished to reinstate an EAP service they’d previously had, to help support their employees’ wellbeing during the Covid-19 outbreak. They’d held their previous package for 12 months and, although their staff responded well to it and used the rewards benefits, the business decided to cancel the EAP as there hadn’t been enough usage of the telephone counselling line.

Initially, the company wanted to reinstate their previous EAP provider. However, after discussion we determined that they primarily wanted the core EAP capabilities and were not overly interested in the available online discounts and rewards. Essentially, they wanted a fully functional and robust EAP that could maintain levels of service throughout the pandemic to ensure access for employees when they needed it the most. We presented the Health Assured offering to them (Health Assured are market leaders in EAP solutions) and the client agreed that their proposition would be the best fit for their needs. We brokered a comprehensive EAP package which had the capabilities of online and telephone counselling services, as well as access via an online app. This was achieved at a competitive price of £3+VAT per head, per month, which was a third of the cost of their previous provider.

An existing client came to us for support and advice to ensure the continued wellbeing and productivity of their staff, as they moved from being office-based to working remotely. As a highly collaborative and physically connected workforce spanning multiple territories, the client was concerned that employees would need support with their mental health and the challenges of transitioning to a different way of connecting with colleagues.

We established that an EAP would be the best method to offer the necessary on-demand support for their staff, and determined that the best package would have a flexible and modular structure for ease of use and 24/7 confidential helplines to provide support regardless of the employee’s location.

We brokered a package with leading EAP provider Health Assured, which not only offered these features, but also offered the option of international coverage in local dialects which the client agreed would be advantageous for supporting their overseas employees. In addition to this, the EAP allowed the client to see usage reports, enabling them to monitor the areas that were regularly being accessed by employees to potentially adapt any internal policies and ensure the package was well received by the team.

The client has been very happy with the solution and feels it has greatly improved their employees’ wellbeing during this period of remote working and will continue to do so beyond then. We continue to work with the company to ensure their package remains highly used and valued by their team.
