Buildings Insurance

Protecting the walls around you and the roof over your head.

Although it’s not compulsory, if you own your own home then buildings insurance should be a top priority, as a good buildings insurance policy could end up saving you a fortune if your home is ever damaged.

If your building were to suffer subsidence, fire damage, vandalism, or damage by extreme weather, your buildings insurance policy covers the costs of rebuilding or repair, amongst other things.

We fully understand that, when it comes to your home, you’re going to want peace of mind, which will only come from having sourced a policy that has been crafted to cater to your specific requirements, and for those that may require contents insurance too, a combined home insurance policy may be suitable.

At Aston Lark, made to measure is our mantra and we’ll ensure the policy you get meets all your requirements.

To make sure you avoid underinsurance, we have connections with several specialist surveyors that we can put you in touch with as we understand the importance of ensuring your building reinstatement values are correct.

Could your property be at risk of being underinsured?

The amount that your home is insured for should reflect the cost to rebuild your home from scratch, which will vary according to its age, size, construction and location. Bear in mind, the rebuild cost bears no relevance to its current market value.

An incorrect sum insured could end up costing you thousands of pounds, but this can be easily avoided by having a professional valuation conducted by a qualified surveyor. Their expertise will provide you with an accurate building insurance valuation; eliminating any risks and ensuring your home is protected by an adequate household insurance policy.

You should never rely on an online calculator to work out the value, as they can significantly undervalue the rebuild of your home, particularly if it’s of a non-standard construction. That is why Aston Lark works with several specialist surveyors, as we understand the importance of ensuring your building reinstatement values are correct so that your home insurance meets your needs.

Our team would be happy to review your existing policy to provide further advice and supply you with a quote.

What our clients say
“Michelle has assisted me in resolving what initially appeared to be a small internal leak which in turn, resulted in a more sever water ingress. Throughout the entire process, Michelle responded swiftly to my requests.  Any issues were resolved efficiently and I was kept updated on a daily basis as to the progress of my claim.  I was not particularly well in the early stages of the claim and Michelle took my ‘burden’ from me and simply came back with resolutions.
She liaised with the Loss Adjuster and your Claims department in the early stages.  When the builder uncovered the internal plasterwork it was discovered the issue was more complex than originally thought by both the Builder and the Loss Adjuster. Michelle stepped in once more and acted in such a calm and professional manner it left me with total confidence that any additional costs would be investigated and resolved.
I have known Michelle a number of years now and had the pleasure to meet her three years ago.  She’s bright, bubbly, has a real sense of purpose and professionalism and leaves me, your client, confident in my choice of Aston Lark. Having run my own successful business for 25 years, I would have been proud to have Michelle as one of my team.
I would finally like to also mention Tina in your Claims department who very swiftly (along with Michelle) resolved some confusion regarding the additional sum.  Both are simply a delight to work with.”
