Delayed or lost baggage

There is nothing more inconvenient than arriving at your destination airport to find that your baggage did not make your flight. It’s an unfortunate way to begin the holiday but having good travel insurance in place will mean some of the stress can be taken away.

Generally, if your luggage is delayed for 24 hours or more or is lost or stolen, you can claim for the cost of buying replacement necessities, up to the limit in the policy. Written proof of the incident must be obtained from your airline, tour operator or other supplier within 24 hours of the loss/theft. If the loss occurs during travel, you must always obtain a property irregularity report from the carrier.

Cover varies with each insurer and some have very low limits so it’s important that you carefully chose a policy that provides enough cover.

At Aston Lark we work closely with Millstream to bring you comprehensive travel insurance that offers two levels of cover. Our Premier policy provides up to a total of £2,500 cover for replacement baggage with a limit of £250 per item, while our Elite policy offers up to £3,500 for replacement baggage and a limit for £750 per item.
