Aston Lark is proud to support Smart Works. In their latest newsletter, Smart Works were delighted to share that in May they helped 344 women across the UK prepare for upcoming interviews. Alice Roberts, Learning and Development Manager at Aston Lark supported five of these women in preparation for their upcoming job interviews and is pleased to share her story of working with the women and how it helped them.

“I visited Smart Works for the second time on March 27th. I met five amazing women, who all came for the dressing and coaching service ahead of their confirmed job interview.

Once they received their completed new outfit for their interview, they came to me for a one-on-one preparation and coaching session.  We ran through how to prepare ahead of the interview and practised answering questions effectively.

Two of the clients were from IntoUniversity, a charity that aims to help young people into higher education, and were applying for summer internships. They had no previous work experience and had never had an interview. I was delighted to hear at the end of May that they had both got the internships they interviewed for. One of the women said: ‘My new outfit made me feel much more confident. And I felt much better when it came to answering the interview questions.”

A week later I also heard that another client had got the job and the feedback was: "Great experience, friendly and very helpful staff.” It was amazing to hear that the visit to Smart Works had got her back into employment.

Being involved with Smart Works is so rewarding, especially when you hear the ladies have been successful. I look forward to my next visit and being able to help more women.”
