Lark staff are set to dust off their running shoes and cycling helmets this month in aid of charity.
Nearly 100 employees and business associates will showcase their sporting prowess at leisure and adventure park Bewl Water in Kent on 21st September by running up to 10km or cycling 15km.
The funds raised from the second annual Duathlon event will be donated to The Not Forgotten Association, a charity which provides entertainment and recreation for injured service men and women and veterans who suffer from a disability or illness.
After the races, participants will be refuelled with a BBQ lunch before trophies are awarded to the best performers. A raffle will also be drawn with various prizes up for grabs including lunch with a main board director and a spa day. Tickets can be purchased from office charity representatives.
Alice Roberts, from Lark’s charity committee, said: “Our emphasis is on raising money for the Not Forgotten Association, bringing people together from all offices and above all else having fun in a beautiful and relaxed setting. Oh, and a few of us are rather competitive!
“The running and cycling courses are not easy so any donations towards the efforts of the participants will be greatly appreciated.”
The Not Forgotten Association was founded in 1920 and now supports more than 10,000 serving and ex-service men and women each year. Recent activities have included canoeing and sailing trips, and a track day at Brands Hatch.
