We at Aston Lark would like to send our congratulations to Vahe Vartanian, who has been appointed a Goodwill Ambassador to the Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity.
The annual international humanitarian award recognises individuals and organisations for humanitarian work and is awarded on behalf of the survivors of the Armenian Genocide.
Vahe, whose family descend from Armenia, will attend the ceremony in Yerevan, Armenia, and says he was ‘humbled’ to be asked to be involved in such an important institution.
Those who work with Vahe will not be surprised by the appointment – his compassion, warmth and charm make him a perfect choice.
Vahe’s London-based Global Family Office Community has also been recognised, and due to demand, he is expanding into the USA.
Vahe said: “The USA hosts the largest number of family offices, but there is demand for something different so we will be hosting our first conference in Beverley Hills later in the year.
“This provides an opportunity to involve more US Family Offices in our community which can only lead to more wide-ranging conversations between our members.”
GFOC is now in its eighth year and Vahe, with his wife Narine, work tirelessly to develop a cohesive community of family offices, as well as a network of specialist advisors who serve them.
The community includes family offices from all continents – single, multi and virtual – with business divisions that provide family offices with services ranging from risk, philanthropy, investments, tax succession planning, next generation and thought leadership. We at Aston Lark feel privileged to be part of the community.
GFOC offers the opportunity for interaction and learning from both peers and experts, as well as sharing of ideas and common issues, recruitment and guidance on service providers qualified in a range of specialisms and that’s where we come in with our award-winning high-net worth insurance.
Father-of-two Vahe, who gained Masters Degree in Marketing from Kingston University, puts all of his experience into the business. He worked in a marketing agency and at The Financial Services Forum before setting up his own firm, VRV Consulting Limited in 2008.
His marketing and recruitment consultancy gave Vahe an insight from family offices and he saw a gap in the market, re-directing his business to create GFOC. The US office is probably just the start of his expansion, so watch this space.
Aston Lark will be at the GFOC conference in London on June 13 alongside many associates who all consider the event one of the most important in their calendar.
Siv Sivasamy, Strategic Account Director at Adam Phones Ltd says ‘the conference is one of the highlights of the year’. He added: “The mix of subject matters, often presented by the families themselves, keeps the audience engaged and offer useful insight in to world of family offices.
“The suppliers present have been well-vetted and won’t be found pitching at families but are those with the experience of dealing with family offices to know it's about building relationships and adding value.”
Alex Traill, Director of Risk and Advisory Services says Vahe ‘has the rare ability to create an environment which feels comfortable and worthwhile while stimulating relevant and valuable conversation for like-minded individuals’.
She said: “In a world where discretion and sensitivity are paramount, his events are a fantastic opportunity to network with new and old faces and build genuine business contacts and friendships – not to mention all with his kindness, generosity and charm!”
Aston Lark Director David Foster and I will be at the GFOC conference, in London, on June 13.
