Flybe flight cancellations: have you been affected?

Overnight, regional airline Flybe collapsed and ceased trading. As a result, all their flights and holidays have been cancelled, leaving some customers stranded abroad and the future trips of others affected. We appreciate the concern and upset people must be feeling.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has been ordered by the Department of Transport to step in and do everything they can to provide transport to bring people back to the UK. Depending on where you are located, the CAA will either fly you home on their operated flights or book you onto existing flights with other airlines.

If you have booked flights and have paid by credit card, please contact your card issuer about a refund as you may be protected under the Consumer Credit Act 1974. If you paid by debit or charge card, again, you should contact your provider for advice. If you used a travel intermediary or airline ticket agent, they may have included travel insurance that includes Scheduled Airline Failure Insurance (SAFI) which will enable them to refund you or cover the cost of a ticket to get you home if you are abroad.

If you have travel insurance with Aston Lark and are affected or if you would like to ensure you have SAFI protection for the future, please contact us on 0203 846 5259.
