Apple issues MacBook Pro recall over unsafe batteries - how to check if yours is affected

Apple is asking some of its customers to stop using their laptops immediately due to a potential fire risk.

The issue effects some MacBook Pro Retina 15” models, sold between September 2015 and February 2017, whose batteries may “overheat and pose a fire safety risk”.

Apple, as per the MacBook Pro recall, will replace the batteries free of charge, though this may take between one and two weeks.

Clients who are worried that their laptop may be affected should check the serial number on the back of the machine on the Apple Recall website.
