Smart Works is a charity that supports women in preparation for their upcoming job interviews with a two-hour dressing and coaching service. Once a client is successful at an interview, they are welcomed back for a second dressing to receive five additional pieces of clothing. This means that they can start their new role with a working wardrobe which will see them through until their first pay cheque1.

Lisa Smith,  Executive Director at Aston Lark, received the news that one of the clients she mentored in preparation for their upcoming job interviews has secured the job.

The client said, "I have never been to something like this before [support with interview skills]. I gained a lot that I can take on board to support me to feel more confident before and during the interview. The interview preparation was extremely helpful. I took away tips on how to help me manage my anxiety in interviews, how to prepare myself prior to the interview and confidence building by using techniques that I was informed about during my one-to-one interview prep".

She will be going back to Smart Works for her second dressing appointment ahead of starting her new job.

Lisa Smith said,

"I remember the client so well, she was full of energy and so passionate about the role, she will be a great asset to their organisation."

Being involved with Smart Works is so rewarding, especially when you hear the ladies have been successful. Aston Lark is delighted to continue supporting this chary and being able to help more women."
