New Scaffold Industry Guidance Notes

The Scaffolding Association has launched two Scaffold Industry Guidance Notes (SIGNS).

The first guidance note covers the requirements for scaffolding inspections during the Covid-19 pandemic. Where sites are operational, the 7-day statutory inspections are still required. If a site has ceased operations and there is no risk of damage from impact, overloading or use, the frequency of inspections should be determined by a risk assessment and the document goes on to provide some guidance as to what this risk assessment may consider.

The second guidance note covers employee safety on site and what measures should be introduced to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
